Just Peace Is Not a Frozen Conflict, But Security Guarantees That Make Aggression Impossible – Andriy Yermak

In Davos, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, together with former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, took part in a discussion on the implementation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Victory Plan and Peace Formula and establishing conditions for a just resolution of the war.

“The Victory Plan is a very important and explicit document that outlines the steps our partners should take to ensure a strong position for Ukraine in any potential negotiations. Ukraine is a victim of aggression. We have been fighting for almost three years against a country that is bigger than us, has more people, weapons, and is a nuclear power,” the Head of the Presidential Office noted.

Andriy Yermak informed that the document, detailing the implementation of each of the ten points of the Peace Formula, is being finalized. It has been under development for several months after the first Peace Summit.

According to him, all these findings will form the basis for consultations with the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump and other partners with a view to taking concrete steps to strengthen Ukraine's position and end the war with a just peace.

“Just peace is not a frozen conflict, but security guarantees that make further aggression impossible. If the world fails to ensure this, the only defense option will be nuclear weapons, which we want to avoid,” the Head of the Presidential Office emphasized.

Jens Stoltenberg noted that although Russia is trying to achieve temporary successes on the battlefield, it is paying a huge price for it. Therefore, it is necessary not to reduce the pressure on the aggressor.

“We cannot allow Russia to impose its conditions. Security guarantees, in particular Article 5 of the NATO treaty, and further strengthening of Ukraine's defense capabilities are the key to resolving the war on the terms of a just peace,” the former NATO Secretary General stressed.
