Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko hopes Ukrainian sailors, illegally detained by Russia, will be released and will return home soon.
"I hope that soon our sailors will be released. I can not tell you the details of the negotiations, but believe me - we are constantly in contact with our negotiating team and we are aware of the chances to return our guys back in the near future," he said during a briefing on July 16.
Vadym Prystaiko also reminded that the Russian Federation had not complied yet with the decision of the International Tribunal.
"There was a great chance in Russia to do this and thus save the face. From the history, we remember that this is not the first case when the Russian Federation did not comply with the decision of the Tribunal demonstratively, and then demonstratively complied them in the same way", the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine added.
