Co-Chairs of the Advisory Committee of the Presidents of Ukraine and Poland identified priority areas for further cooperation

The XXVIII meeting of the Consultative Committee of the Presidents of Ukraine and the Republic of Poland took place in Lviv in the format of a meeting of co-chairs - Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva and Secretary of State - Head of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland Krzysztof Szczerski.

The interlocutors coordinated the implementation of the agreements reached at the level of the heads of state during the official visit of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the Republic of Poland on August 31 this year and identified priority directions of further cooperation.

Krzysztof Szczerski informed of the internal political situation in Poland after the recent parliamentary elections and reiterated the continued support of the official Warsaw for the European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Ukraine. He also assured of willingness of the Polish side to continue efforts to restore Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Ihor Zhovkva outlined Ukraine's progress in implementing systemic reforms, in particular in passing new laws, and outlined steps taken by Volodymyr Zelenskyy to end the Donbas war. The Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine thanked for the political support that Poland provides to our country in the international arena, primarily within the European Union and NATO.

The interlocutors paid special attention to the issues of commemoration of the common historical memory, praising the progress made in the implementation of the relevant agreements reached at the level of the heads of state. Ihor Zhovkva expressed hope that the reboot of the Ukrainian-Polish dialogue would result in the proper ordering of Ukrainian memorial sites in Poland.

The Co-Chairs of the Committee discussed the schedule of contacts between the two states at the highest-level and agreed to continue their work in order to strengthen the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the Republic of Poland.
