President of Ukraine

Speeches

It is very important that the United States is now increasing deliveries. This is necessary to stabilize the situation. I am grateful to our partners. The pace of deliveries must be such that it disrupts the pace of Russian assaults.

For the second time, we celebrate Christmas on the same date as one big family, one country. For the second time in modern history, Christmas unites all Ukrainians. Today we are side by side. And we will not get lost. Whether in person or in our minds, we will greet each other, call our parents, kiss our children, hug our loved ones, and remember those close to us.

Peace through strength is possible. And we will do everything to achieve peace.

Over the past year, Ukraine has grown stronger and moved closer to the goal that unites our entire nation – we must defeat the occupier, overcome this evil. We need a just peace, and each and every one of you must work toward this goal.

Our defense is entirely just. I thank all those around the world who support Ukraine in this.

I also want to thank all the partners of our state who are responding to this and other Russian shellings by being ready to provide more air defense systems, more weapons that can protect against terrorists. We have now returned from Brussels with new agreements on air defense systems. Germany has also already transferred an additional IRIS-T system – thank you.

I’m grateful to everyone working to protect geopolitical clarity and economic security for our continent. This is only possible through the inclusion of all European nations in EU and NATO, of course, structures.

We all understand that next year could be the year this war ends. We must make it happen.

Preliminary data suggests that the Russians are trying to conceal the losses of the North Koreans. Ukraine’s Defense Forces and intelligence are working to determine the full extent of the actual losses suffered by Russian units that include North Koreans.

The situation remains difficult in the Pokrovsk sector and with Kurakhove. I am grateful to all the units that are destroying the occupiers there. I would also like to express particular gratitude to our warriors in the Kursk region – we need strength there to achieve the right outcomes for Ukraine and Ukrainians in diplomacy.
