President of Ukraine

Speeches

The legal system must function in such a way that the Rome Statute, and particularly the warrant issued by the International Criminal Court against the top Russian criminal, genuinely restricts him and already ensures his isolation.

We are unveiling this memorial at a time when history is repeating itself, when Crimea has once again become a battlefield for freedom, dignity, and the right to live – to live on one's own land. This memorial is not just a tribute to the past. It is a symbol that we do not forget, and we will not forgive.

We will do everything not only to defend our state and people, but to really consolidate the world for the sake of strong responses to warmongering or any attempt to prolong the war.

This year, we need an effective second Peace Summit. This means maximum involvement of the world in the implementation of the Peace Formula. And the maximum strengthening of our positions to make the process of restoring peace real and fair.

All agreements reached must be implemented as quickly as possible. What is needed in September must be delivered to our troops in September. What we agreed upon for the following months must also be delivered on time.

This week brought new agreements on ammunition for Ukraine, as well as funding for the production of weapons, drones, and missiles in Ukraine. Air defense remains an unwavering priority. And we continue to persuade our partners at all levels about long-range capabilities.

I truly appreciate that Italy is doing everything with us to implement the Peace Formula – all its points that are essential for peace in Ukraine to be the same kind of peace enjoyed by all those countries that already have it.

Each of you understands how important it is for a soldier to know that the frontline is not only based on a soldier’s loyalty to his country and his oath, but also on a sufficient supply of weapons. That is why it is important that every support package that is announced is promptly put to work on the battlefield – without any delay.

When decisions are quick, Russia does not have time to adapt, and we achieve particularly valuable results. This applies to protecting our cities and communities from strikes, supporting our warriors on the frontline, and ensuring the resilience of our state and our people.

This week, next week, and all of September must be productive for all of us. Primarily, this is about air defense, our capabilities on the front and in reconstruction. We are preparing substantial things.
