President of Ukraine

Speeches

The preparation for the winter is what we are working on now, in the summer. We are also working on the configuration of our air defense so that Kharkiv and our other regions have more protection from Russian strikes.

Today, first and foremost, I would like to commend two of our combat brigades – the 25th Sicheslav separate airborne brigade fighting in the Pokrovsk direction, and the 95th separate air assault brigade fighting in the Toretsk direction.

Usually, in public discourse or in private conversations, the topic of the country's defense capability is associated primarily with weapons, machinery and equipment. And all this is indeed extremely important. But at the same time, there is something that plays a no less significant role in the context of war. Something that is also a weapon, but of a different nature. This is the physical and mental health of our warriors. That is why this event is especially important; that is why military medicine should always be the focus of the state's attention.

It is important that our warriors receive exactly what they need under these conditions of very intense battles and pressure from the Russian army.

I am grateful to everyone working at our defense enterprises, in our defense industry. It is evident that the sector is becoming entirely different—stronger and more efficient.

Ukraine will get everything it needs to withstand and achieve its goals. Today, there were several reports that contributed to a clearer understanding of both tasks and needs.

Our task is to ensure by all means and with all our strength the constant effective destruction of Russian troops, their logistics and their important positions not only directly on the frontline, but also in all available depths. But while we are waiting for our partners' decisions, we are looking for our own solutions, our own options.

No matter what happens in the world, we need our own tools to support our people and state, our own security agreements that will work under any conditions. This is exactly what we are doing.

The German "Patriot" system has arrived in Ukraine, and I would like to thank Germany and the United States for this step. We will be able to do more in the skies.

In Moscow, they know that you in London have the decision-making power that can steer this war towards its end. And it will be the right conclusion – just and fair.
