President of Ukraine

Speeches

Ukraine must be strong so that diplomacy can work successfully through that strength. A great deal of diplomacy is already in motion, and developments will only speed up.

The world is changing fast – in military, in diplomacy, in economics, in everything. And we must keep up, of course. And we need to meet as soon as possible to define the terms of peace and security guarantees.

Now, we must do more than yesterday. Support each other more than ever before. So that this year we can say – we did everything we could and had to do, and here – peace is here.

Security guarantees are what unite the vast majority. Europe, America, and all our partners in the world need a shared understanding of how to ensure that Putin can never deceive anyone again and that Russia can no longer bring death to other nations – from Ukraine and Europe to Syria, the Middle East, and Africa.

Without respect, the world will not survive – given today’s level of weaponry. Therefore, we must work at all levels globally – with all partners, in all regions – to ensure that the international order truly exists and truly aligns with the very meaning of the word “order.”

The work continues, and I am grateful to every one of our partners who understands the need for strong positions – both on the frontline to protect our people and in diplomacy, where both strength and truth matter.

Together with America and Europe, peace can be more secure; and that is our goal. And most importantly – this should be not only our goal, but a shared one with our partners.

Everything needed to protect lives in modern war should be produced in Europe – fully. Europe has everything it takes. Europe just needs to come together and start acting in a way that no one can say “No” to Europe, boss it around, or treat it like a pushover.

I instructed the Commander-in-Chief to discuss this with Brigadier General Serhii Holubtsov and report back on a possible personnel change in the Air Force, including the consideration of appointing General Holubtsov as Deputy Commander of the Air Force.

I had a conversation with President Trump – a good and detailed discussion; I am grateful to the President for his genuine interest in our shared opportunities, in how we can work together to bring real peace closer.
