During a working trip to the Kharkiv region, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in the presentation of the Regional Development Strategy for 2021-2027.
In his opening speech, the Head of State expressed conviction that developed, successful regions are the key to building a powerful, modern, happy country.
"It is for this purpose that development strategies have been created for each region. This is a roadmap for the success of each Ukrainian region, which together with the central authorities and local communities must be implemented now," the President said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the Kharkiv region and Kharkiv are leaders in many areas - science, infrastructure, engineering, defense industry.
"It is both the student capital, and the scientific capital, and a very important railway and road transport center. It is also a powerful production, which gives one of the highest indicators of the regional gross product," the Head of State emphasized.
Also, according to the President, the region has great potential in the engineering, agricultural and IT sectors.
"We should pay special attention to what I said at the beginning - these are the glorious traditions of defense-industrial production, which must be fully revived and brought to a whole new level," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
According to him, the Kharkiv region can be a "tank" that will lead the neighboring regions to success and prosperity.
"Kharkiv really has many sister cities: Bologna, Lille, Warsaw, Kaunas and many other cities. And I believe that the constant sisters of Kharkiv and the whole region will be development, harmony, wealth and prosperity," the President said.
