In Ukraine, there is a positive trend in the incidence of COVID-19 disease: for the eighth week in a row, its level is steadily declining. This was discussed at a conference call chaired by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, today there are 243,000 active patients in Ukraine, compared to 420,000 at the peak of the epidemic.

"Almost all regions are currently in the "yellow" zone. Cherkasy region is the only one in the "orange" zone in terms of the rate of detection of cases of infection. There are also some regions that may move to a "green" level of epidemic danger," said the Prime Minister.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy was informed that this weekend the vaccination centers started vaccinating people over the age of 65 who signed up through Diia application. A total of 956,000 citizens have been vaccinated in Ukraine.

The Head of State also set a task to resolve the issue of the return home of Ukrainians from Nepal, which closed the airspace due to quarantine.

"We must find an opportunity to promptly return our citizens home," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.

In addition, the President inquired about the payment of financial assistance in the amount of UAH 8,000 to sole proprietors and employees of small enterprises whose activities were affected by the introduction of quarantine restrictions in April this year.

As reported to the Head of State, a total of more than 360 thousand applications for such assistance were registered, 120 thousand of which have already been paid.

The Prime Minister noted that the state had allocated UAH 1 billion for entrepreneurs, and another UAH 400 million would be paid in the near future.
