President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz.
The Head of State expressed his gratitude for all the significant military support from Germany and its leadership in uniting partners' efforts to help Ukraine.
The President of Ukraine and the Chancellor of Germany discussed further defense cooperation. Olaf Scholz informed that the sixth planned IRIS-T air defense system will be delivered to Ukraine by the end of this year. The parties also discussed next year's supply of air defense systems and the potential for additional air defense assistance from Germany.
During the conversation, the leaders focused on other efforts needed to ensure the best possible defense and political support for Ukraine; they also coordinated joint steps for the near future. In particular, they agreed that the Ramstein format should be maintained. The organization of the next meeting of the coordination group was also considered important.
In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine's vision for a just and lasting peace must be presented at the G20 Summit in Brazil and thanked Germany for its commitment to supporting Ukraine in this effort.
