The more military aid comes to Ukraine, the faster the situation in Bakhmut and other areas of the front will change - President

The situation in the city of Bakhmut in Donetsk region and in other areas of the front in Ukraine, where fierce battles with the Russian occupiers continue, depends not only on the heroism of the Ukrainian military, but also on the speed and volume of military aid received from international partners. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a meeting with media representatives after talks with President of Poland Andrzej Duda in Warsaw.

"The most difficult situation on the territory of our state is in Bakhmut. The greatest use of various weapons and artillery is there. There is a very, very difficult story. And there is a shortage every day: sometimes there is artillery and enough shells on our side, sometimes there are less of them. This happens every day. Sometimes there is success in some parts of Bakhmut, we go forward, then there is no success, and we retreat to our positions again. But we are in Bakhmut, and the enemy does not control the city. This is the situation as of today," explained Volodymyr Zelenskyy, answering journalists' questions.

The Head of State reminded that the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the commander of the "Khortytsia" operational and strategic group of troops, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi is responsible for the operational situation in the Bakhmut region, for whom the main concern is the preservation of personnel.

"For me, the most important issue is our military. And certainly, if there is a moment of even hotter events and the danger that we may lose personnel due to the encirclement, there will certainly be corresponding correct decisions of the general on the ground. I am sure of that," the President emphasized.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized: the more and faster weapons and ammunition will arrive in Ukraine, the faster the Armed Forces will change the situation not only in Bakhmut, but also in other areas of the front on the territory of our country.

For his part, Andrzej Duda, answering a question about plans to send combat aircraft to Ukraine, noted that in recent months, Poland transferred four MiG-29 aircraft from its depots to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Transfer of four more is in progress.

"It's already eight. We are ready - and I told Mr. President about this - to transfer six more planes that are being prepared for this," said the Polish leader.
