President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded high state honors to the servicemen of Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine who demonstrated exceptional bravery in performing special combat missions, particularly in destroying the Russian missile boat "Ivanovets."
Addressing those present at the meeting in the Mariyinsky Palace, the Head of State noted his pleasure at the opportunity to personally thank them and all Defence Intelligence warriors.
"You have done a lot. Defence Intelligence warriors have done a lot both on land and at sea. Russia truly feels the pain from your actions, from the actions of your brothers in arms, and it is crucial that the Russian instigators of this war daily suffer its consequences," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The President highlighted the success of Defence Intelligence soldiers at sea, specifically the striking of the Russian missile boat "Ivanovets."
"A complex operation in the Donuzlav lake raid – six direct hits by naval drones to the 'Ivanovets' boat's hull. It was powerful. And I thank you for that strength," added the President.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed confidence that the entire Ukraine takes pride in the Defence Intelligence servicemen who perform tasks of such complexity.
"It is an honor to have you. Our task is to protect and support you. I want to thank you for protecting the lives of all, risking yours," said the President.
The attendees also honored the memory of all war heroes with a moment of silence, those who sacrificed their lives for Ukraine.
The Head of State presented the Defence Intelligence military personnel with the orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky II and III classes and the Order "For Courage" III class.
