Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Roman Mashovets met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Takashi Kurai.
The parties discussed prospects and ways of further development and deepening of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Japan in the defense and military-technical spheres. Particular attention was paid to the reform of Ukraine's defense industry and the development of Ukrainian legislation in this area.
Roman Mashovets noted the need to expand bilateral cooperation in the context of strengthening the defense capabilities of our country and providing assistance from Japan.
The Deputy Head of the Office of the President informed about the course of consideration of draft laws on reforming the enterprises of the defense-industrial complex and making foreign investments in business entities in Ukraine.
For his part, Takashi Kurai reaffirmed the continued support for our country in resisting the aggression of the Russian Federation and the interest in investing in Ukraine's defense industry.
The parties agreed to maintain an active dialogue on these issues and to promote the further development of the Ukrainian-Japanese partnership.
