Roman Mashovets discussed the defense reform in Ukraine with the High-Level Advisor from Lithuania in the Reform Committee of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Roman Mashovets, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, had a meeting with Vitalijus Vaikšnoras, High Level Strategic Advisor from Lithuania in the Reform Committee of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The interlocutors discussed a number of issues related to the course of defense reform in Ukraine. Particular attention was paid to improving the policy of military education and professional career of servicemen.

Roman Mashovets stressed the importance of expert dialogue in the context of strengthening the defense capabilities and building the Armed Forces on the basis of practices and democratic principles applied by NATO countries. He reaffirmed the interest in taking into account the lessons and experience gained by Ukraine's partners in the process of implementing a quality national military training system.

For his part, Vitalijus Vaikšnoras reaffirmed Lithuania's continued support for Ukraine in countering Russia's aggression and the interest in effective measures aimed to reform Ukraine's Armed Forces to achieve maximum interoperability with NATO countries.

The parties agreed to maintain an active dialogue on the issues raised and to promote the further development of the Ukrainian-Lithuanian partnership.
