Roman Mashovets and the Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine discussed the key areas of Ukrainian-Japanese security cooperation

Deputy Head of the Office of the President Roman Mashovets held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Kuninori Matsuda. The interlocutors discussed the current situation at the front and directions for the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of security and defense.

Roman Mashovets informed Kuninori Matsuda about the composition and nature of the actions of the Russian occupation forces, the plans of the Russian Federation for mobilization and new threats to the Ukrainian people related to the use of Iranian drones.

Particular attention was paid to the protection of critical energy infrastructure facilities in Ukraine and the coordination of bilateral and international measures to prevent Russia from acquiring Iranian and other weapons.

The Deputy Head of the Office of the President thanked Japan for supporting Ukraine at the bilateral and multilateral levels in repelling the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

Kuninori Matsuda assured Roman Mashovets that Tokyo's position regarding active international countermeasures against the aggression of the Russian Federation will not change.

The parties exchanged views on further steps in bilateral cooperation in the field of security and defense and agreed to continue consultations on the specified issues.
