The work of the Supreme Anticorruption Court of Ukraine should not be hindered by thousands of small cases - President

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stresses the importance of resolving the issue of jurisdiction of the Supreme Anticorruption Court of Ukraine so that thousands of small cases do not hinder its work.

"There is a problem that we have not solved yet - it is a matter of jurisdiction," the Head of State said in his speech on the occasion of the launch of the Supreme Anticorruption Court of Ukraine.

According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, some people tried to block the work of the Supreme Anticorruption Court by "filling it up" with thousands of small cases.

“Someone really wanted you to consider cases when the village head did not spend several hundred hryvnias in a proper way. This was done to keep the resonant cases of corrupt officials in the shadows,” the President explained.

The Head of State stressed that legislative work was already underway to address this problem.

“I know that you expect more than 200 resonant cases of plundering, shameful actions of corrupt officials - top officials. And we will help you consider these cases freely so that all these people are punished,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated.

It bears reminding that on August 29, the President of Ukraine submitted a bill to the Parliament amending the Law of Ukraine “On the Supreme Anticorruption Court” (concerning the launch of the court), which clarifies the jurisdiction of the SAC.
