Rehabilitation of Wounded Soldiers and Potential Patronage Over Ukrainian Regions – Results of Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Meeting with Iceland’s President 

In Reykjavik, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of Iceland Halla Tómasdóttir

The President expressed gratitude to Iceland for supporting Ukraine from the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion and for hosting the fourth Ukraine – Nordic Summit.

“Thank you for organizing this very important Ukraine – Nordic meeting. We are grateful to Iceland and our Northern European partners for their support since the first days of the full-scale war. Our unity sustains Ukraine financially, humanitarianly, and on the battlefield. Yesterday, we made some crucial decisions. In particular, the support from our partners for our Peace Plan, and I thank them for this,” said the President of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy highlighted Iceland’s contribution to the establishment of the Register of Damage and the Special Tribunal for the crime of aggression.

Among the topics discussed were Iceland’s participation in the demining coalition, training Ukrainian sappers, rehabilitation of wounded soldiers, the involvement of Icelandic companies in prosthetics, post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, and countering Russian disinformation.

Special attention was paid to implementing the Peace Formula and preparations for the upcoming Peace Summit.

The President invited Iceland to join the program of patronage over Ukrainian regions – either individually or in cooperation with other Northern European countries.
