Advisor to the President on Economy told Swiss business representatives about measures taken by Ukrainian authorities to counteract negative impact of COVID-19 epidemic

Advisor to the President on Economy Oleg Ustenko participated in an online meeting of representatives of the Swiss business community in Ukraine organized by the Embassy of Switzerland. It was the first such meeting with Swiss businessmen. Ambassador of Switzerland to Ukraine Claude Wild also took part in it. During the report, Oleg Ustenko gave an assessment of the new reality and the challenges facing the Ukrainian economy, in particular given the spread of COVID-19. He described the measures taken by the government and the parliament of Ukraine to counteract negative impact.

The parties stressed that fiscal responsibility, support from the IMF and continued reforms are essential to further attract investment and overcome the current economic crisis.

Last year, Switzerland was among the top 5 countries providing foreign direct investment to Ukraine. Businessmen stressed that they believe in the great potential of our country. Swiss companies continue to play a role in modernizing Ukraine's economy, creating a large number of high-quality jobs. In addition, the Swiss Cooperation Program with Ukraine implemented by the Embassy pays great attention to sustainable economic development projects in all regions of the country.
