President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture has been commissioned to prepare a program to support farmers affected by a drought. In particular, it is planned to expand the program "Affordable loans 5-7-9%".

"I talked to farmers. We set a task. In addition to the program "5-7-9%", a part of this program will be allocated to farmers. First of all, for those who suffered from a drought in Ukraine,” the President said during a conversation with media representatives within a working trip to the Odesa region.

The President stressed that the program "Affordable loans 5-7-9%" issued loans in the amount of UAH 6 billion.

In addition, the relevant ministries should develop irrigation programs.

"Everyone complains that farmers have been losing crops because of a drought for many years. Yes, it is nature, it is climate, but the state cannot answer that it is only nature and climate,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.

The Head of State noted that the government should address the issue of crop insurance.
