The concept of development of the tourism industry of the Chernivtsi region was shown to the President

During his working trip to the Chernivtsi region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy got himself acquainted with the concept of development of the region's tourism industry in the framework of the #TravelUkraine presidential initiative.

The concept was presented by Head of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration Serhiy Osachuk during a meeting of the Head of State with local entrepreneurs.

"The initiative of the President of Ukraine to revive domestic tourism is extremely relevant not only because of quarantine restrictions, impossibility or complications of foreign tourism due to the pandemic, but primarily because domestic tourism is an effective tool to unite the Ukrainian people," the Chernivtsi RSA Head noted.

According to him, the development strategy of the Chernivtsi region for the period up to 2027 defines the tourism industry as one of the strategic goals.

In his presentation, Serhiy Osachuk spoke about the main tourist "magnets" of the region, including: Fedkovych National University of Chernivtsi, Chernivtsi city center, Khotyn Fortress, Dniester Canyon and Bukovynian Carpathians, as well as museum complexes and gastronomic tourism.

The President announced that the National Program “Great Construction” would be expanded next year to include cultural facilities.

"This year we started the program "Great Construction", in addition to roads, we have 100 kindergartens, 100 stadiums, 100 schools. This does not mean that we will not build next year. This is the beginning. Next year we have the second part of this program - 100 cultural sites," the President said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that the authorities will support locations - carriers of Ukraine's cultural heritage.

"These are our plans, we will do it," he said.

The Head of State also set a task to study the issue of direct railway communication between Kyiv and the Chernivtsi region.
