The presidential couple honored the memory of warriors who died defending Ukraine's independence

On the 29th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his wife Olena honored the memory of warriors who died defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state.

The presidential couple, together with veterans and members of the families of fallen warriors, laid flowers at the Wall of Remembrance near St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral in Kyiv.

"Today, on the Independence Day of Ukraine, we honor all our heroes who gave their lives for the sake of our independence. For Ukraine, for its future, for its freedom," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

During the minute of silence, 29 children released balloons into the sky.
