In Reykjavik, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Speaker of Iceland’s Parliament Birgir Ármannsson and members of the Foreign Affairs Committee.
The President thanked the Speaker for Iceland's active participation in the international Crimea Platform’s parliamentary activities, acknowledged the parliament's decision to recognize the Holodomor of 1932–1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people, and expressed special gratitude for Iceland’s defense support for Ukraine.
Key topics discussed during the meeting included the Peace Formula implementation and preparations for the second Peace Summit. The President emphasized the importance of engaging Global South countries in the summit.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted the significant role of Iceland in establishing the Special Tribunal for Russia’s crime of aggression against Ukraine, as well as the Register of Damage.
