President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia David Zalkaliani, who is on an official visit to our country.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Georgia for the continued support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, adding that our state had also always supported Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
"I commend the restoration of substantive, powerful relations between our countries. We are very glad to see you," the President of Ukraine stressed.
The Head of State informed his interlocutor about the current security situation in Donbas and the temporarily occupied Crimea.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy reiterated a personal invitation for President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili to take part in the inaugural summit of the Crimean Platform and the events on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine in August 2021.
The interlocutors discussed ways to intensify bilateral political dialogue and the activities of the High-Level Ukrainian-Georgian Strategic Council.
During the conversation, special attention was paid to the practical cooperation between Ukraine and Georgia in the context of deepening relations with the EU and NATO.
David Zalkaliani thanked Ukraine for supporting Georgia's territorial integrity and European aspirations, and also noted that the two countries had resumed intensive bilateral cooperation.
