President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the heads and top executives of defense companies from partner countries as part of the second International Defense Industries Forum (DFNC2).
The event was attended by representatives from BAE Systems, KNDS, MBDA, D&M Holding Company, Amentum Services, Inc., AeroVironment, Inc., Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, Romarm, CZ Colt Group, Quantum Systems, Hellenic Defence Systems, and the DI Danish Defence & Security Industries Association.
The President expressed gratitude to the countries represented by these manufacturers, as well as to the employees of the companies, for their support of the Ukrainian people. He also thanked the companies that have already begun operating in Ukraine and have opened offices there.
“We are very happy to see you in Ukraine. We count on increased support, because unfortunately, the war is not over. And we are grateful for everything we can do together today and in the future. We look forward to our partnership not only during the war,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The main topic of discussion was expanding cooperation to enhance Ukraine’s defense sector production capabilities.
The President emphasized that domestic defense production has significantly increased since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion. However, further growth requires foreign expertise, access to supply chains, and technology.
He noted that since the first Defense Industries Forum, there have already been important results. Specifically, this includes the maintenance of light artillery, the localization of assault rifle production, and the creation of facilities for manufacturing small arms ammunition.
In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented state awards to representatives of foreign defense companies for their personal contributions to the development of Ukraine’s defense industry and the creation of high-tech products under martial law conditions.
