President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with a bipartisan and bicameral delegation of the U.S. Congress in the framework of the 50th Ambrosetti International Forum in Italy.

The meeting was attended by Senator Lindsey Graham (Republican Party), Senator Ben Cardin (Democratic Party), Senator Roger Marshall (Republican Party), and Representatives Joe Wilson, William Timmons, and Russell Fry (Republican Party).

“We are very happy to have such a strategic partner. We are grateful to the Congress, President Biden, and the American people for your strong support and for many decisions that support our soldiers on the battlefield,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The Head of State informed the audience in detail about the situation on the frontline, the results of the operation in the Kursk region, as well as the consequences of the Russian missile terror against Ukrainians and the critical infrastructure of our country.

During the meeting, they discussed the urgent needs of Ukraine's defenders on the battlefield. The key priorities include obtaining additional air defense systems and missiles for them, as well as expanding training missions for Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighters.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy once again emphasized that Ukraine needs permission to use long-range weapons provided by partners against military targets in Russia.

In addition, the President stressed the importance of developing joint defense production projects.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the strengthening of sanctions against Russia, in particular in the energy and banking sectors, which would effectively reduce the ability of the aggressor state to continue the war against Ukraine.
