President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that when considering corruption cases, law enforcement agencies cannot allow any exceptions for relatives and friends, and if a person takes a bribe, a person must be held accountable.
"If a person took any bribe, at least a hryvnia, this person must be imprisoned. I don't care which party it is - the Servant of the People or another party… I warned all deputies, all officials and, by the way, all law enforcement officers, because we know how law enforcement officers "cover up" this or that business," the Head of State noted during a conversation with media representatives within a working trip to the Lviv region.
The President noted that, unfortunately, not all honest people who come to power have the strength not to be tempted to take bribes later. Therefore, it is necessary to begin the cleansing of power with yourself and look people in the eyes honestly. He expressed satisfaction that the cleansing of power began with the Servant of the People party.
"Because people see that everything should be fair, there are no exceptions. And it will be so with every person who takes bribes. Everyone knows my position," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
