President: No viruses should interfere with the work of the Verkhovna Rada, which faces many important tasks

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine must adopt a decision on the Constitutional Court and the law on the state budget for 2021 by the end of the year, so no viruses should interfere with the work of the Parliament, as stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

In his vlog, the President noted that many deputies got infected with COVID-19, including Chairman Dmytro Razumkov and First Deputy Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk.

"I wish them good health. And I wish health to all deputies, regardless of the party," the President said.

At the same time, he noted that there is still a lot of work to be done in the Parliament this year.

"This is both a solution to the problem with the Constitutional Court and the adoption of the budget in the second reading. Personnel changes are also possible. There are many important laws that we promised in our program, and therefore no viruses should hinder you in doing that," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.

First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed hope that the work of the Parliament would be continued and that it would be able to perform its function despite the absence of some members of the Verkhovna Rada.

According to him, next week the Parliament will consider the bill on democracy through an all-Ukrainian referendum, the bill on "investment nannies", which provides for state support for investment projects with significant investments. Bills on the public health system, virtual assets, protection of the rights of orphans, children deprived of parental care, children with disabilities, and a number of social initiatives aimed at protecting the population of Ukraine during the quarantine period due to the COVID-19 pandemic will also be considered.

In total, as noted by Ruslan Stefanchuk, more than 100 legislative acts are planned for consideration at various stages.
