President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy heard a report by the emergency operations center on the crash of Ukraine International Airlines Boeing-737 in Iran.
Several versions of the causes of the plane crash are being considered. At the same time, the participants of the meeting chaired by Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that information should not be manipulated before the investigation of the circumstances of the tragedy.
The meeting was also attended by Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov, Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Zahorodniuk, Minister of Foreign Affairs Vadym Prystaiko, and representatives of other agencies.
The Iranian party expressed willingness to provide the necessary assistance to properly investigate the disaster.
Psychological assistance is being provided to the relatives of Ukrainians who were killed in Iran. The state will ensure that families receive all insurance payments.
In addition, DNA of relatives of fallen Ukrainians is being collected. One of the main tasks of the emergency operations center is the identification and repatriation of bodies from Iran.
On January 9, the President will hold phone conversations with officials of countries whose citizens were killed in the tragedy.
At 3:30 am, an aircraft with 45 Ukrainian specialists in various spheres having extensive experience in the field of aviation and man-made disasters landed in Iran.
