During a working trip to the Sumy region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited one of the command posts, received a briefing from the commander, and presented state awards to the warriors.
The President was briefed on the course of the Kursk operation and the operational situation on that section of the front. Ukrainian troops continue to hold a buffer zone on Russian territory to prevent an advance on the Sumy region.
The parties also discussed the performance of the brigades, the needs of the grouping, the use of drones and electronic warfare systems, as well as countering enemy UAVs of various types.
The President spoke with the warriors and presented them with the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III class, and the Orders of Danylo Halytskyi.
“Thank you for what we call the Kursk direction – for defending our Sumy and Kharkiv regions. These are very important steps and a very important operation. Everything you’re doing matters greatly. Thank you for these months of endurance, for your true heroism – yours and that of your brothers-in-arms. Thank you for your service,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
