At the initiative of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, applications for state aid for individuals - entrepreneurs and employees who were forced to terminate their activities due to the tightening of quarantine restrictions against the background of the spread of COVID-19 have started to be registered on the Unified Public Service Portal "Diia".

After registration via the mobile application or the Unified Public Service Portal "Diia" small entrepreneurs and their employees in the "red" quarantine zones whose activities have been affected by the restrictions will receive a one-time financial aid in the amount of 8 thousand hryvnias from the State Budget of Ukraine.

In addition to the state-guaranteed assistance, they will be able to receive additional payments from local budgets if the local government adopts a relevant decision.

To date, about 100 thousand people have submitted applications.

The President urges citizens to more actively register appeals on the portal in order to receive financial assistance from the state this month.

"SMEs are one of the main components of our economy. They create about 7 million jobs. These people must not lose their jobs due to the COVID-19 crisis. They must not shut their business down due to the inability to provide for a family. In difficult times, the state must lend a hand to the citizens. By submitting an application through "Diia", people will be able to receive 8 thousand hryvnias of direct financial assistance from the state budget. I also call on local authorities not to stand aside and help their entrepreneurs from local budgets. After all, we are talking about jobs in your communities,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

According to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov, the President set an important task for the government - to support small businesses during quarantine.

“For over a year now, the Ministry of Digital Transformation has been creating convenient online services and simplifying the lives of Ukrainians. The Ministry of Digital Transformation has developed the technical part of the registration of financial assistance to private entities and employees of the "red" zone, so that the service can be obtained in a few clicks on the portal or in the application "Diia". We have made the service as automated as possible, saving Ukrainians time and taking care of everyone's safety," Mykhailo Fedorov said.
