President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed a letter to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, in which he set a task to strengthen support for people with disabilities in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.
"One of the most vulnerable segments of Ukraine's population affected by the COVID-19 pandemic is people with disabilities, including children with disabilities. They already have a significant level of health loss, and for them the pandemic means an increased risk to life and the emergence of even greater complications," the letter reads.
The President stressed that even before the pandemic, this category of citizens had problems with access to medical care, and the coronavirus made this issue even more relevant.
"I ask you, dear Denys Anatoliyovych, to take measures to strengthen support for people with disabilities during the pandemic and minimize its consequences for them," the letter reads.
