During a working trip to Mariupol, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy personally checked the repaired section of H-08 Boryspil - Dnipro - Zaporizhzhia - Mariupol highway at the wheel of the car.
The overhaul of 130 kilometers of the road in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions was completed in the last two and a half months. Pursuant to the instruction of the President, the funds for the reconstruction of the highway, which had been delayed for years, have been allocated in a short time. Technologies, materials, approaches to removal and laying of asphalt-concrete surface meet the European standards.
“We are grateful to everyone: to our government, to all the workers who have finished the work in time. In less than three months, about 130 kilometers were built. 70 kilometers of this road have been built for three years, and now, in three months, 130 kilometers of a very important highway have been built,” the President said.
National highway H-08 is of strategic importance for the Donetsk region. It is the main transport artery connecting the large port city of Mariupol with the Zaporizhzhia region, ensuring internal transport connections of the southeastern areas of the region. It is also one of the main roads to the JFO area.
“If all roads are built this way, we will be able to complete the most important highways of our country in four and a half years. We will unite not only people, but also infrastructure,” the Head of State emphasized.
"Please, preserve the road. This is truly the road of life,” the President addressed the leadership of the Donetsk region.
