President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy participated in the commemoration of the Ukrainian citizens killed as a result of the crash of the Ukraine International Airlines aircraft in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The ceremony took place at Boryspil International Airport.
The President together with Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov, Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk and members of the Government met the aircraft with the bodies of eleven dead citizens of Ukraine on the runway: crew members of PS752 flight Volodymyr Haponenko, Oleksiy Naumkin, Serhiy Khomenko, Kateryna Statnik, Ihor Matkov, Mariya Mykytiuk, Denys Lykhno, Valeriya Ovcharuk, Yuliya Solohub and passengers Olena Malakhova and Olha Kobiuk.
The coffins with the bodies were delivered by a mourning procession from the runway to terminal B. People gathered along the route of the procession to pay respects to the dead Ukrainians.
Employees of Ukraine International Airlines gathered at the platform near terminal B and bowed their heads in sorrow bidding a final farewell to their colleagues and friends.
National Guard servicemen carried the coffins to the terminal, where the relatives of the deceased bid a final farewell to them.
The Head of State laid flowers at the place of farewell to the victims of the plane crash.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also spoke with the relatives of the dead and expressed sincere condolences to them.
