The internal investigation of this incident carried out at the order of the JFO commander did not establish the facts of treason.
At the same time, managerial and disciplinary conclusions will be made concerning the command of the battalion and the 53rd separate mechanized brigade due to significant errors in the organization of combat training and internal service.
In addition, the investigation established that the personnel of the border squad at the Novotroitske, Berezove-1 and Berezove-2 checkpoints violated the procedure of control over the collision line passage.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that everything necessary would be done to return captive warriors.
“We will act as fast and efficient as possible to free our men,” the Head of State emphasized.
