President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Pivdenmash for the second time during his presidential term: We are ready to do everything to make the company a Ukrainian brand interesting to investors
While on a working trip to the Dnipropetrovsk region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the state enterprise “Production Association Pivdennyi Machine-Building Plant named after O.M. Makarov", which is included in the list of strategic objects. This is Volodymyr Zelenskyy's second visit to the plant during his presidential term.
Pivdenmash is a multidisciplinary machine-building enterprise that produces products for the defense industry, aviation, agriculture, thermal power plants. The enterprise is also engaged in the production, testing and operation of launch vehicles, rocket engines and spacecraft.
The Head of State stressed the need for immediate financial recovery of the plant, as Pivdenmash was and should remain one of the best in domestic industry. To this end, in July the Verkhovna Rada passed a law to resolve the issue of the company's debt and wage arrears. The sum is over 2 billion hryvnias. All debts - especially wage arrears - should be closed in September, the President said.
"The issue with all debts has been resolved. I am grateful to our entire team and to the deputies who helped solve it. The wage arrears amounted to about 220 million hryvnias, but today the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will solve this issue. We agreed on it. It is difficult to find money, but people are important. Therefore, today Pivdenmash will be completely debt-free," the President said during a meeting with the company's staff.
"We want you to have a feeling that the state really cares what happens to you. So that next time we come to you, we will see thousands of employees: experienced and young. And we are ready to do everything for this, we are ready to support Pivdenmash and other fundamental, strategic enterprises," the President emphasized.
In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the state is ready to help the company with orders.
"As for contracts, we are also ready to lend a hand, ready to do everything possible for Pivdenmash to be a Ukrainian brand and to regain the attention of various Western investors interested in its products," the President said.
Separately, the Head of State noted the possibility of negotiating military orders for the company.
"We know how to work, we want to work and we will work. That's why your help is invaluable in terms of orders,” CEO of Pivdenmash Serhiy Voyt said.
