On the Day of the State Special Transport Service, which is marked for the first time in Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with SSTS specialists and awarded them with the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, III class, Orders "For Courage," III class, and Orders of Princess Olga, III class.
The Head of State emphasized that the employees of the Special Transport Service ensure Ukraine's defense – their work affects supply routes, mine clearance, necessary construction and protection of important facilities. SSTS warriors also take part in combat operations and defend Ukraine.
"The strength of Ukraine is not just in individuals – it is in our unity, in our solidarity, it is in all the elements of our Defense and Security Forces, in the contribution of every citizen to the defense of our state and its independence. Without the dedication and effectiveness of each Ukrainian, others may not endure, while the courage and results of each one create opportunities for all – to fight, to protect our home, to stand for each other, and one day, I am certain, to ensure the ultimate result for Ukraine, to ensure peace and victory," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The participants observed a minute of silence in memory of all those who gave their lives for Ukraine.
