President visited Rozsypne border guard office: There should be no weak spot on the border - this is a matter of national security of Ukraine

During a working trip to the Luhansk region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Rozsypne border guard office.

The Head of State listened to the reports of the heads of the border guard units in video mode.

In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy talked to the border guards and presented state awards.

"It's great when the state awards the best fairly and in time. This is exactly what we are doing today - showing the whole country that we have guys thanks to whom our society can live its usual quiet life, enjoy peaceful skies, sometimes even forgetting about the danger. About the danger that you manage to eliminate," the President said, addressing the border guards.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that the state border is the first frontier on which the state should be as effective as possible.

Therefore, according to him, much remains to be done to modernize Ukraine's borders, provide them with all the technical and information tools to protect against the enemy.

"There should be no weak spot on the border. For us, this is not just a matter of economics and combating smuggling. This is a strategic issue for Ukraine's national security. The ongoing hybrid confrontation poses particular threats. And we are almost the only ones in Europe who really know how to counter such threats. We know how to be modern, we know how to be effective," the President stressed.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also expressed confidence that Ukraine would regain full control over the border in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

"This is a necessary security precondition for the deployment of the next positive political process in Donetsk and Luhansk. It is our border guards who will testify that the deoccupation of certain districts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions has taken place in full," the President said and called on the State Border Guard Service to "prepare for this day".

Those present also honored the memory of the fallen border guards with a moment of silence.
