In the Sumy region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the command post of the 82nd separate airborne assault Bukovynska brigade, which is performing combat missions in the Kursk region.

“The Kursk operation has greatly helped us in motivating those who supply us with weapons support packages from abroad. Therefore, it was a new wave, it was very important, and you probably do not even fully realize how much you have helped with this particular decision,” the Head of State said.

The President received a report from the Commander of the brigade, Hero of Ukraine Dmytro Voloshyn, on the operational situation in the brigade's area of responsibility, combat mission accomplishment and interaction with neighboring units.

He also reported on the brigade's experience in the use of electronic warfare systems, reconnaissance and FPV drones, as well as in the fight against Russian UAVs.

Separately, they discussed the brigade's equipment and ammunition supply, manning and training.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented state awards to the warriors of the units participating in the operation in the Kursk region: the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, I and III classes, and the Order “For Courage”, III class.

“I want to personally thank you for the Kursk operation. Please convey my gratitude to all commanders, sergeants, all soldiers, and your brothers-in-arms. In times of a long war, it is necessary to motivate not only the personnel. It is necessary to motivate the whole world and convince them that Ukrainians can be stronger than the enemy,” the Head of State said.

In addition, the President promoted the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Brigadier General Mykhailo Drapatyi, to the rank of Major General, and the Commander of the 9th Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Oleksandr Lutsenko, to the rank of Brigadier General.
