President opened a bridge in Stanytsia Luhanska

During a working trip to the Luhansk region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the Stanytsia Luhanska checkpoint. The Head of State got himself acquainted with the process of reconstruction of the bridge crossing over the Siverskyi Donets River, where the local residents cross the delimitation line.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy was informed that all construction work had been completed and that the bridge was to be opened in two days. The President instructed to open the crossing today.

“We thank the OSCE, our close friends - the Ambassadors of Germany, France, representatives of all the countries who come here and see what we are doing step by step. From promises - to real actions. We built this bridge, we built the road. To tell you the truth, this is a difficult job,” he said.

According to the Head of State, rebuilding the bridge is a landmark mission that demonstrates the real actions of the Ukrainian authorities.

“Today is a really important day for us. Four months ago, we came here and there was no high-quality road, no buses, people couldn't get there normally, there was no bridge. This is very symbolic. Because this (rebuilding the bridge - ed.) is one of the humanitarian missions of the Ukrainian authorities and our close partners,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.

Together with the President, the Ambassadors of Germany and France, as well as Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office to the Trilateral Contact Group Martin Sajdik got themselves acquainted with the completion of the reconstruction of the bridge.
