The Head of State informed him of the current security situation in the country, particularly the intensification of massive missile attacks on critical infrastructure by the aggressor state of Russia. The President thanked Norway for its significant contribution to the defense capabilities of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
The interlocutors noted the successful finalization of bilateral negotiations on the conclusion of an agreement on security commitments. They agreed that the leaders of the two states would sign this strategic document at the earliest opportunity.
The parties also discussed the situation in the field of air and missile defense of Ukraine and exchanged views on possible ways to expand Norway's assistance in this area.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the Norwegian side for the significant military and humanitarian assistance in the amount of approximately $7.1 billion being provided as part of the multi-year Nansen Support Programme for Ukraine for 2023-2027.
"We count on the support of the Norwegian government and Storting in passing a decision on a significant expansion of assistance to Ukraine within this program," the President noted.
