Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the delegation of the Ukrainian World Congress that arrived in Chernivtsi from Bucharest, where the UWC Summit is taking place. More than 200 leaders and representatives of Ukrainian communities from 55 countries are participating in the summit.
"Our meeting is a very important sign for our partners’ communities. This is an important sign of support for Ukrainians who defend our country every day, and for civilians," the President said.
The Head of State emphasized the importance of active work of the Ukrainian World Congress with governments, parliaments and communities of foreign countries aimed at ensuring international support for Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also noted that the Ukrainian World Congress supports educational programs for Ukrainian children.
"I know that you have many educational and cultural programs that you implement on different continents. It is extremely important that our children, who are now abroad, do not lose access to Ukrainian culture. The programs, the books, the language - this area is also of great significance. We would like to bring our children back to Ukraine and rebuild the country," he said.
The Head of State thanked the UWC and community organizations of Ukrainians abroad for supporting our country since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.
UWC President Paul Grod, for his part, emphasized that the main goal today is the victory of Ukraine over the aggressor, and the UWC will always support our country on this path.
"We are all proud to be Ukrainians. And today Ukrainians have taken the first place as the bravest people in the world," Paul Grod noted.
