President of Ukraine heard reports on the house destroyed by Russian missile in Dnipro

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy heard reports on the results of the search and rescue operation in Dnipro at the site of a nine-storey building destroyed by a Russian missile, assistance to the victims and bringing to justice those responsible for this tragedy.

"As of 13:30 Tuesday, the debris dismantling has been completed, the search and rescue operation is over," said Denys Monastyrskyi.

According to him, 45 people were killed, including 6 children. 79 people, including 16 children, have injuries of varying severity.

In total, about 1700 residents lived in the high-rise building. About 230 apartments in the building were damaged, 72 apartments were completely destroyed.

Andriy Kostin informed the President on the investigation aimed at clarifying the circumstances and identifying all the persons involved in the crime of Russia against civilians of Ukraine.

"At present, fragments of the missile have been found, which preliminarily allow its identification as a hypersonic cruise missile of the X-22 type. Only one unit of the Russian Aerospace Forces has this missile - the 52nd long-range bomber aviation regiment," the Prosecutor General said.

He noted that during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the leadership of this unit has not changed, which gives reason to believe that it was they who gave the order to hit the targets with the X-22 missile.

"We are preparing a notice of suspicion to the head of this unit of the 52nd regiment," said Andriy Kostin.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, about 100 people died as a result of the use of this type of missiles in different parts of Ukraine.

For his part, Kyrylo Tymoshenko said that several options are being worked out to provide the victims in Dnipro with new housing. In particular, the allocation of financial assistance for the purchase of an apartment or the provision of housing.

"Today, together with the regional and city authorities, we are considering the option to allocate funds from the state budget for the purchase of apartments, or allocate housing," - he said.

Kyrylo Tymoshenko noted that currently people who lost their homes were provided with places in the dormitory. The Deputy Head of the Presidential Office thanked the volunteers who actively help to rent housing for the victims.

Kyrylo Tymoshenko also said that a Point of Invincibility was deployed near the tragedy site. People can get hot food, warm clothes and necessary consultations there. Psychologists are working with the victims.

The families of the victims will also receive financial assistance from the regional and city authorities. The decision on the allocation of funds is to be adopted by local councils at the nearest sessions, said Kyrylo Tymoshenko.

Following the meeting, Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed to simplify and accelerate the provision of assistance to the victims as much as possible so that people do not think about legal formalities and bureaucratic procedures, but start returning to life after this tragedy as soon as possible.
