In Zaporizhzhia, traffic was launched on a new bridge over the Staryy Dnipro River (Beam Bridge) with the participation of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
This is the flagship of our bridge project, which is part of the "Large Construction" program. In total, this year we built 100 bridges in Ukraine. The most important bridge is in Zaporizhzhia, it is the largest,” the Head of State stressed.
The President said that the length of the Zaporizhzhia Bridge is more than 9 kilometers, it consists of six transport junctions, which include 27 artificial structures.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy reminded that there were plans to build the bridge crossing back in 1965, and today the most important thing is that after eight months of work, which began in April 2020, the first part of the bridge was opened.
The President of Ukraine also thanked the Turkish contractor Onur Taahhüt for the timely work.
According to the Head of State, they want to complete the bridge in 2021. After talking to journalists at the bridge crossing, the President launched a car traffic there. The first drivers honked the horn on the occasion of the launch of traffic on the Beam Bridge.
