President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a meeting with President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė who arrived for the inauguration on May 20. The Head of State thanked Mrs. Grybauskaitė for congratulations on assumption of the presidency. He noted that the sitting President of Lithuania was a true and reliable friend of Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted the contribution of Dalia Grybauskaitė to strengthening the strategic partnership of the two countries and expressed conviction that it had new prospects.
The Head of State also noted personal efforts of Dalia Grybauskaitė aimed at supporting Ukraine in the protection of sovereignty and providing practical assistance in the implementation of reforms and reconstruction of Donbas.
In addition, the President underscored the important role of Lithuania in promoting Ukraine to the EU and NATO and strengthening the defense capabilities of our state.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed special gratitude for the treatment of the Ukrainian soldiers wounded in the east and the possibility of their rehabilitation in the medical institutions of Lithuania.
