President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The President of Ukraine assured King Abdullah II of the support for his policy of ensuring the stability and security of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The King thanked the President of Ukraine for his support and solidarity, noting the readiness to continue the comprehensive development of relations between Ukraine and Jordan, and expressed support on the path towards peace in Donbas.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues on the agenda of bilateral relations. The interlocutors stressed the importance of deepening cooperation, in particular in the trade and economic sphere, food security issues and in the context of countering the effects of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
"Ukraine is ready to ensure Jordan's food security. We have already stated that we are ready to become a guarantor of global food security. We are ready to consider the possibility of using your country to export domestic goods to the countries of the region," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
The parties also discussed the fight against the pandemic and ways to overcome COVID-19.
"The difficult stage of the coronavirus pandemic requires the concerted efforts of all countries in the world to overcome its consequences and restore cooperation in the trade and economic sphere. There is an active dialogue between Ukraine and Jordan and the search for new forms of cooperation," the President of Ukraine said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated King Abdullah II on the beginning of Ramadan and invited him to the festivities on the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
King Abdullah II stressed he was looking forward to meeting with the President of Ukraine.
