President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia. The parties reaffirmed their willingness to further develop the Ukrainian-Georgian strategic partnership.

The President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Georgia signed the Regulations on the High-Level Ukrainian-Georgian Strategic Council, which should become a key mechanism of bilateral dialogue.

During the meeting they discussed the possibilities of intensifying cooperation between the two countries on the issues of European and Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as in the framework of international organizations, in particular the UN and the Council of Europe.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised the potential of developing trade and economic relations between the two countries, noting that Georgia was an important promising market for Ukrainian exports. He also underscored the opportunities available for the intensification of the investment sector.

In this context, the parties agreed to hold a regular meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Georgian Commission on Economic Cooperation in the first quarter of 2020 in Tbilisi.
