President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a meeting with Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom James Cleverly who is on a visit to Ukraine.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Head of State highly appreciated the assistance provided by the United Kingdom to Ukraine in the context of countering full-scale Russian aggression.
"We are extremely grateful for the significant support that the UK has provided and is providing to Ukraine. Over the past weeks, we have held talks with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. There was a direct dialogue and we reached very important agreements," the President said.
He emphasized the importance of the UK's decisions to provide Ukraine with Storm Shadow missiles and to train Ukrainian pilots.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that the Russian aggressor has recently significantly intensified its missile terror against Ukraine, so our country needs to quickly and significantly strengthen its air defense systems.
"It is important that we have started discussions on the Patriot coalition. And the UK is part of these discussions," he said.
The parties had a detailed exchange of views on Ukraine's expectations from the NATO Summit in Vilnius. The Head of State emphasized that it is important for our country to receive a clear signal on the prospects of membership in the Alliance.
"This is a motivational factor for our army," the President said.
The parties also discussed the promotion of the Ukrainian Peace Formula and the preparation of a global summit on its implementation. The parties agreed on the importance of involving as many states as possible, including the Global South, in this event.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and James Cleverly discussed preparations for the London International Conference on Ukraine's Reconstruction. It was emphasized that the conference should bring practical results and become an important political signal of support for our country.
