In Washington, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with a bipartisan delegation of the U.S. Senate, including Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, and senators from both parties.
The President expressed gratitude to the President of the United States, both houses of Congress, both parties, and the entire American people for their unwavering support of Ukraine during the full-scale Russian invasion. He also highlighted the bilateral security agreement between Ukraine and the U.S., signed with President Joe Biden a month ago.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the intensification of Russia's missile terror against Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure, noting that a boy, who had been in the ICU at "Okhmatdyt" hospital at the time of the Russian invaders' attack, died today.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the battlefield situation and U.S. defense support.
President Zelenskyy awarded Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell with the Orders of Merit, I class.
