During a visit to Moldova to participate in the European Political Community Summit, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held an informal meeting with the leaders of European countries within the coalition of fighter jets.
In particular, the talks were joined by Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak, Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki, Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen, Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson, Prime Minister of Belgium Alexander De Croo.
The leaders discussed practical issues related to the start of training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets and other types of aircraft. The parties agreed to start this process in the near future.
The participants also discussed the future supply of aircraft and the creation of the necessary infrastructure for them.
The President of Ukraine and the European leaders agreed to continue working on an official decision to create a coalition of combat aircraft (Ukraine's Sky Shield) at the next meeting in the Ramstein format after future consultations with the American side.
During the meeting, Volodymyr Zelenskyy also raised the issue of the need to form a coalition of "Patriots" amid intensified missile attacks on Ukrainian cities by Russia.
