On the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone call with U.S. President Joseph Biden.
The leaders discussed the current situation on the battlefield, in particular the situation in the area of Avdiivka, Donetsk region.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to Joseph Biden for his continuous support of Ukraine and Ukrainians over the course of two years of repelling a full-scale Russian invasion.
The interlocutors emphasized the importance of the U.S. Congress passing a bill on supplemental funding for the Ukrainian Defense Forces as soon as possible.
"I am glad I can rely on the full support of the American President. We also believe in the wise decision of the U.S. Congress," the Head of State emphasized.
The parties emphasized the need to ensure that Russia bears full responsibility for its aggressive actions.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the United States and every American for supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
"Supporting Ukraine means supporting democracy and freedom. We must protect these values together," he said.
